My focus is on identifying issues and providing creative solutions. Whether it’s an iconic brand like Coca-Cola or a start-up like blu eCigs, every brand I’ve worked on has had something keeping it from moving forward. I consider myself more of a creative problem solver than an Art Director, Graphic Designer, or Creative Director, although I’ve filled all three roles in my 20-year creative career.
I found ways to bridge gaps with analytical thinking, creative execution, and as much grinding as necessary. By following this approach, I solved business problems and helped brands make real progress.
Leadership
My leadership approach involves providing my team with clear guidance and support to foster confidence and a sense of accomplishment among my employees. In my experience, clear communication and collaboration creates a strong foundation of a productive and positive work environment. When leading teams, I prefer directing versus dictating, and I use mentoring and collaborating efforts to generate rapport and trust.
Design
Every element should serve a purpose in terms of design. Everything should contribute to the overall composition, whether a simple line or a complex image. I strive to solve visual problems as simply and effectively as possible while maintaining a minimalist and clean aesthetic.
